In particular, according to the study conducted by the Innovative Business Centre (IBCentre), today in Russia there are 37 facilities authorized or officially registered for certification by the LEED standard, as well as 25 properties in various stages of the certification by BREEAM standard. It is expected that by the end of 2015, the market for "green" offices and warehouses in Russia will reach 1.2 million square meters, and investments in this segment only in the current year could be more than $1 billion.

Primarily, this rapid growth is promoted by "green" light from the Russian government, that has adopted the "Conformity Assessment. Environmental requirements to property" state standard. This document regulates the country's first national standards for sustainable construction.

In addition, the preparations for the World Cup in Russia in 2018 will be a powerful stimulus for further development of the segment, as the sports events infrastructure must be certified by the international "green" standards.

These and many other important industry issues will be discussed at the CIS GREEN BUILD - 2014, International Conference and Exhibition of  the "green" building industry in Russia and the CIS, which will be held on April 8-9, 2014 in Sochi, Russia. Among other things, during the event there will be discussed the technological aspects of the construction of modern "green" buildings and the creation of eco-infrastructure, as well as various cases in the field of energy efficiency.
